"Portable Wi-Fi" Review
25/03/2022
The 13-inch "Yoga Tab 13" and the 11-inch "Yoga Tab 11" were announced on this day. Both are tablets with Android 11. As a feature, there is a U-shaped kickstand, which can be used (installed) as a tablet, stand, tilt, or hang.
The big internal difference between the two models is the SoC, the former is the high-end Snapdragon 870 / 8GB of memory. And with Micro HDMI input, it also functions as a mobile display. There is already a review on this, so if you are interested, please have a look. The latter is a middle class Helio G90T / memory 4GB (or 8GB). There is no display input here. It looks almost the same size as the picture of the door.

The SoC is MediaTek Helio G90T. It is a 2x2.05GHz and 6x2.0GHz octa-core, and contains Mali-G76 MC4 in the GPU. The shipment itself was about a year ago. However, the manufacturing process is 12nm, which is a little behind other companies. When I hear MediaTek, I get the impression that it's not very fast, but as a result of benchmark tests, it turned out that it has the same performance as the Snapdragon 730G. Memory is LPDDR4 4GB or 8GB, storage is 128GB or 256GB. The OS is equipped with Android 11.
The display is an 11-inch wide IPS panel (2,000 x 1,200 dots). Supports Dolby Vision. Is it a pity that there is no Micro HDMI input on the 13-inch? As mentioned earlier, it is equipped with a U-shaped kickstand, can stand on its own on a table, and can also be used by hooking it on a hook.
The network is IEEE 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0. The interface is USB Type-C (USB 2.0), microSD card slot (up to 512GB), JBL speaker x 4, microphone x 2. There is no 3.5mm jack. It will be sold separately (6,600 yen), but it is compatible with Lenovo Precision Pen 2.
The sensor is equipped with an acceleration sensor, an optical sensor, a gyro sensor, and a TOF sensor. The camera has 8 million pixels (FF) on the front and 8 million pixels (AF) on the back.
It has a built-in 7,500mAh battery and can run for up to about 15 hours. Size 256.8 x 169 x 7.9-23 mm (width x depth x height), weight about 650 g. The price is around 42,900 yen for the 4GB + 128GB model and around 49,500 yen for the 8GB + 256GB model. Is it a reasonable place for a middle class made by a major manufacturer?
The 13-inch Yoga Tab 13 is an 8GB + 128GB model and costs around 87,780 yen. Panel size (2,160 x 1,350 dots / sRGB 100%), high-end power, USB 3.1 Type-C, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, Micro HDMI input ... Although the configuration is different, this feels a little expensive is.
Front. Front camera on the center of the panel. The back is the rear camera on the upper right. Fabric material is used for more than half. The left side of the U-shaped kickstand on the lower side. From the left, Type-C, power button, volume ± button, microSD card slot right side. There is nothing on this side. Stereo speaker microSD card slot on the lower side (U-shaped kickstand side). Accessories that use eject pins. AC adapter (approx. 48 x 40 x 22 mm, weight 51 g, output 5V / 3A, 10V / 2A, 12V / 1.67A 20W type), USB Type-A / Type-C cable Weight is actually 632g stand. It can be set to various angles as shown in the picture, and since it is U-shaped, it can be hooked on a hook, etc. Comparison with Tab P11 Pro.The same 11 type, but this machine is slightly more compactThe housing is gray metallic, and the upper half of the back is made of fabric and has a luxurious feel, and has a casual feel and a unique atmosphere. The actual weight is 632g. Even with the same 11-inch, the "Tab P11 Pro" weighs 486g, which is heavier for the 11-inch. Will the difference be the presence or absence of the U-shaped kickstand, which is the main feature?
The front is the front camera on the center of the panel. The edge is in its own way. The back is the rear camera on the upper right. Fabric material is used for more than half. U-shaped kickstand on the bottom. Type-C, power button, volume ± button, microSD card slot are arranged on the left side. There is nothing on the right side. Also, a stereo speaker is embedded in the lower part of the U-shaped kickstand.
Accessories are an AC adapter (48 x 40 x 22 mm, weight 51 g, output 5V / 3A, 10V / 2A, 12V / 1.67A 20W type), USB Type-A / Type-C cable.
By the way, this U-shaped kickstand peculiar to this machine is installed at a large angle as shown in the picture of the door, and you can watch the image as it is, for example, connect a keyboard / mouse (touch pad) with Bluetooth, and the productivity mode described later. It may be used like a notebook PC. It is also possible to use only the cylindrical part without putting out the stand, and to use pen input without tilting too much. Also, because it is U-shaped, it can be hooked. This may be convenient when using it in the kitchen.
However, if you hold it by hand, the horizontal position is still good, but some people may find it easy to hold it in the vertical position due to this protrusion, while others may feel uncomfortable because the thickness changes from side to side. Also, as I wrote earlier, it's a little hard to hold over 600g to keep it in your hand.
The 11-inch display is an IPS panel (2,000 x 1,200 dots) with an aspect ratio of 16: 9.6, which is a little wider than 16: 9, but a little narrower than 16:10. There is no problem with brightness, color development, contrast, and viewing angle. As you can see from the pictures, the colors are good, and you can enjoy both the pictures and the images.
Fever was not particularly noticeable in the trial range. The sound is stereo when in the horizontal position. There is a speaker in the lower part of the U-shaped kickstand, and if you use the picture of the door, the sound will be reflected on the desk and the bass and volume will increase. However, do you want a little more power?
The camera has 8 million pixels on both the front and back. However, the front is fixed focus and the back is autofocus. There is a portrait mode in addition to photos and videos on both the front and back, and you can adjust the degree of blur and beautiful skin.
The front camera has a fixed focus, so the image is sweet but the color is not bad. It's about 1/4 the size of the screen and can be used for video conferences.
The image on the rear camera is similar to that of a tablet. The low-end smartphones of today look better. If you want to take pictures and videos, you should use your smartphone. I think there is a cost issue, but it's time to do something about this point, including other companies (other than Apple).
