With Family Link, you can create a new child's account by inviting it from the parent's Google account, install apps on the registered Android device, limit usage time, etc. The parent's account must not be part of another family group and must have a credit card on file for payment.

Children use only Android 7.0 or later and some 6.0/5.0 or later terminals, but parents can use Android 4.4 or later / iOS 9 or later for management. You can also manage and configure Family Link from your web browser.

You can approve or block apps that your child tries to download from the Google Play store. Apps shared in the Family Library, approved apps, and updaters for installed apps can be installed without approval. You can also set it to block the application later.

You can also check how long your child has used the app in weekly and monthly activity reports, and set a daily usage limit. In addition, you can set bedtime and break times in advance, and remotely lock your device if necessary.

Although Family Link allows parents to view filtering settings for certain Google apps, such as Google Search and Chrome, it does not provide content filtering capabilities in web browsers.

Family Link was available by invitation only in the United States in March 2017, and is currently available in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and New Zealand. .
