iPhone users should add a Google search widget

The

widget is one of the highlights of iOS 14. Of course, it's been available on Android for years, but that doesn't make it any less fun on iOS.

Google announced in "The Keyword" that it's jumped into the world of iOS widgets with a very well-designed Google Search app.

In fact, the Google search widget is so good that some Android fans complain that it's better than the Android version.

What can you do with Google's new widgets?

The basic idea behind Google's new widget is to make searching easier than doing a web search on the iOS home screen.

You don't need to launch your browser to search, just tap the widget to search.

There are two types of widgets, the smaller one allows you to search by text only, and the larger one allows you to use normal search, lens search, and incognito mode.

If you always search on Google on the web (and who doesn't?), this is definitely a widget you should install on your iOS.

What's interesting about Google's home screen widgets is that they're visually stunning and functionally sophisticated.

Surprisingly streamlined, it feels more like a feature of iOS than a third-party app.

While Google is definitely doing a great job, it makes me wonder what other third-party apps can do with iOS 14 widgets.

Using Google Home Screen Widgets

To get home screen widgets, you need to download the Google app from the App Store.

After installing the Google app, press and hold the screen and click the "+" that appears at the top to edit the home screen, so select the Google widget.

There are two types of widgets you can choose from, whichever suits your needs.
