Buffalo launches "WEX-733DHPTX" and "WEX-733DHP2" Wi-Fi repeaters that plug directly into an outlet

Buffalo Co., Ltd. will ship two Wi-Fi 5 repeater products that plug directly into an outlet in early August. The estimated market price (tax included) is around 4880 yen for the wired LAN-equipped "WEX-733DHPTX" and around 4380 yen for the "WEX-733DHP2".

Both products support IEEE 802.11ac, also known as Wi-Fi 5, with a maximum communication speed of 433 Mbps in the 5 GHz band and 300 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band. Built-in antenna for 5GHz band x 1, 2.4GHz band x 2 for transmission and reception, dual band simultaneous connection is possible.

You can use it by plugging it directly into an outlet, and if you insert it on the bottom side, you can use it without blocking the upper opening of the outlet. Equipped with a relay band switch and a reset button on the side.

After pressing and holding the WPS button on the front of the repeater for about 2 seconds, you can connect simply by pressing the WPS button on the Wi-Fi router that is the main unit. It is also compatible with third-party routers equipped with WPS.

With the "StationRadar" app for Android/iOS, it is possible to measure the radio range of each of the base unit, repeater, and Wi-Fi slave unit, so it is possible to find the optimal location for the repeater.

 WEX-733DHPTX is equipped with a 100BASE-TX wired LAN port on the bottom, and can also be used as an Ethernet converter that can connect devices not equipped with Wi-Fi to Wi-Fi only with wired LAN.

 The body size (width x depth x height) is 65 x 40 x 95 mm for both products, and the weight is about 130 g for WEX-733DHPTX and about 120 g for WEX-733DHP2.
