D-Link Japan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, D-Link) announced on the 15th that it will start selling two products in the layer 2 smart managed switch "DXS-1210 series" that supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) or higher on all ports. The lineup includes the "DXS-1210-28T", which has 10G BASE-T standard ports, and the "DXS-1210-28S", which is a multi-port model with 10G SFP + standard ports.

The "DXS-1210 series" is a layer 2 smart managed switch equipped with a high-density Ethernet port of 10GbE or higher. It is equipped with network functions suitable for small and medium-sized networks, and is equipped with layer 2 functions such as VLAN, IGMP snooping, port mirroring, spanning tree, and loopback detection, as well as static routing functions. Security features include IEEE 802.1x authentication to prevent network access by unauthorized terminals, ARP spoofing prevention to prevent eavesdropping due to spoofing, and traffic segmentation to prevent loopback communication between ports.

In addition to being able to manage settings using the CLI, these functions also support settings from an intuitive Japanese Web GUI. Since it also supports SNMP, it is possible to obtain various status information of "DXS-1210 series" from the management tool.

Among the new products, DXS-1210-28T is equipped with 4 25G SFP28 slots in addition to 24 10GBASE-T / 1000BASE-T / 100BASE-TX ports. By installing an optional SFP28 transceiver or direct attach cable in the same slot and connecting it to a file server, etc., smooth data processing becomes possible, which is appealing to contribute to improving business efficiency.
