LG unveils world's first 42-inch OLED TV 'ideal for gaming' - CES 2022

The world's first 97-inch organic EL TV. Expand with G2 series

The 2022 model lineup of LG organic EL TVs is as follows.

In addition to the conventional 55/65/77V models, the G2 series includes a new 83V model and the world's first 97V model. Adopt a "gallery design" that can be installed in close contact with the wall.

In addition to the conventional 48/55/65/77/83V types, the C2 series offers the world's first 42V type. The 42V type is said to be an "ideal size for console and PC games."

The organic EL panel "LG OLED evo" is used in the G2 series and some of the C2 series. The G2 series uses Brightness Booster technology to improve heat dissipation and advanced algorithms to enhance brightness.

The processor is "α9 Gen5", which uses deep learning to enhance upscaling performance, recognizes the subject and background, and enhances the three-dimensional effect of the image. In addition, the "AI Sound Pro" function has been expanded to enable 7.1.2ch virtual surround playback with the built-in speakers of the TV.

Continued to use webOS, our own smart TV platform. Personal profiles have been introduced, allowing users to enjoy a customized viewing experience. Specifically, it will be possible to set up quick access to your favorite streaming services for each profile and get content recommendations based on your viewing history. You can log in to your profile from your TV's browser or from a compatible smartphone.

In terms of operation, it supports NFC Magic Tap that mirrors the smartphone screen on the TV. It also has a new function "Always Ready" that allows you to display artwork and clocks and play music when you are not watching TV. The 2022 model of the LG organic EL TV also has enhanced gaming functions. Select and toggle game-specific features and view presets directly from the Game Optimizer menu. A new Dark Room mode adjusts screen brightness to improve the gaming experience when the lights are off. In addition, a new "sports mode" has been added to the conventional presets (FPS, RPG, real-time strategy games).

In addition to the organic EL model, LG has announced the 2022 model of "QNED TV" that uses mini LEDs. A combination of proprietary quantum dot technology and nanocell color technology achieves high color reproduction performance. All models after "QNED90" are certified for color consistency, and it is said that you can see high-quality images that do not change from any angle.
