"Portable Wi-Fi" Review
25/03/2022
If you're an iPhone user, you've probably wanted to try Android at least once.
Happily, New Zealand Samsung recently created a little web app for the iPhone called 'iTest'.
With this app, you can change your iPhone like an Android and experience the operation.
iTest can simulate Galaxy operation on iPhone.
You can touch the home screen, browse the Galaxy Store, and check out some apps.
You can also make fake calls and text messages to see how your Galaxy works.
Of course, the iTest experience is not the same as using a real Galaxy.
iTest can't replicate the Galaxy's camera, the Settings app is stripped down, and some gestures are missing.
But it's enough to give you an idea of how the Samsung Galaxy menus and controls feel.
There are also many tutorials on iTest that teach you how to configure Galaxy and Android for features that the web app doesn't have.
iTest is good as an introduction to Samsung smartphones, but it is not a model for all Android smartphone operations.
Android smartphone makers release slightly different versions of Android.
For example, Samsung phones are different from Pixels, and they are also different from OnePlus.
Apps, features, and settings also vary depending on which brand of Android phone you use and which version of Android your phone supports.
However, there are enough similarities between manufacturers and brands that at least iTest knows what Android devices in general can do.
I tried installing the iTest app on my Pixel to see if I could test the Galaxy home screen on a non-Samsung device, but it could only open a link to Samsung's online store.
On the other hand, you can reproduce most of the operations of Pixel smartphones on non-Pixel smartphones.
Also, if you're an Android user looking to switch to iOS, Apple's official guide is a good place to start.
