The "smart plug" that allows you to turn on/off home appliances using a smart speaker is a popular genre due to its high versatility. I have installed about 3 in my home, but it is useful because home appliances that could not be operated remotely can be turned on and off from a distance.
By the way, most of these smart plugs only have one or two outlets, but Meross Technology introduced this time has installed four of them together and made them into the shape of a power strip. It's a smart power strip. Products with the same shape have been released by other companies, but this product has acquired Amazon's "Works with Alexa" certification, so it is more suitable for use in combination with the Amazon Echo series.
What kind of usage will be possible by having multiple outlets? Since I actually purchased the product, I will report on its usability.
The setting method is the same as for products with one port
This product has four outlets However, the function itself is the same as the one-piece product. In other words, by connecting home appliances to this product, you can turn off the power remotely using a smartphone app and smart speaker. In addition, if the product turns on just by plugging it into an outlet, the power can be turned on and off at the same time.
It also has 4 USB ports, and you can turn on/off USB devices. However, unlike outlets that can be turned on/off individually, this USB port can only be turned on/off all at once. If you have a USB device that you really want to control the power of individually, you should insert a USB charger into the outlet instead of these 4 ports and connect it there.
