TECH4ALL works with SDGs (Sustainable Development goals) to develop skills, applications and technologies in the areas of education, environment, health and development to prevent anyone from being left behind in the digital world.

The DigiTruck project was launched in 2019 to promote digital inclusion of remote and local communities in Kenya. DigiTruck, which converts and retrofits second-hand shipping containers, is a mobile classroom that provides training for individuals and communities who need digital skills most. All of its electricity comes from solar energy, which will also bring benefits to societies in areas where electricity supply is insufficient.

Since the official launch of the DigiTruck project, more than 2300 students from 19 consulting industries in Kenya have received more than 80, 000 hours of training. Each 40-hour course covers basic digital literacy skills, such as how to use smartphones, the Internet, e-mail and office software. The training will guide e-waste management and include a variety of necessary soft skills, including the creation of business documents, online job search and the launch of online businesses.

Safaricom's Peter Ndegwa CEO (CEO) said, "the company is fully committed to contributing to the UN's sustainability goals by providing connectivity, innovative solutions and digital skills to empower customers in the digital world. This award is an excellent evaluation of our efforts to work with partners such as Huawei to digitally combine our customers. "

The programme has made a significant contribution to goal 4 of the SDGs, namely "ensuring comprehensive, equitable and high-quality education for all and promoting lifelong learning opportunities". Initiatives such as DigiTruck will also contribute to other SDGs activities, such as "Poverty Eradication" and "gender Equality".
