I want to know how to back up iPhone and iPad data to Mac

Data from devices such as iPhones and iPads can be backed up and saved on the Mac itself. On Macs running macOS Catalina or later, use the Finder instead of iTunes for backup.

IPhone backup procedure using Mac

1 Connect your device to your Mac

Connect the device you want to back up to your Mac

2 Open the Finder on your Mac

Click the "Finder" icon at the bottom left of your Mac screen to open it

3 Click the device name

Click the "Device Name" displayed in the "Location" section in the left sidebar of the screen

4 Click "Trust" and enter the passcode on your device (* First time only)

The first time you connect your device to your Mac, click "Trust" on your Mac screen

5 Check "Back up all data on iPhone to this Mac"

Check the circle on the left side of "Back up all data in iPhone to this Mac"

6 Click “Backup Now”

Click "Backup Now" in the center of the screen to start the backup

7 When backing up personal information, encrypt the backup

When backing up personal information such as passcodes and healthcare, the data must be encrypted

Check "Encrypt local backup"

8 Set a password to protect the backup

Enter the password to encrypt the backup and click "Set Password"
