Use a Bluetooth mouse on your iPad!How to move and customize what you need to know-iPad computerization course

I connected a genuine Apple Smart Keyboard Folio and a genuine Apple Magic Mouse to my iPad.It ’s already a good laptop.

Connect with Bluetooth mouse

The most common mouse that connects to the iPad is the Bluetooth mouse, which is wireless and easy to handle. In addition to genuine Apple Magic Mouse, various products are available from third parties. I think there are many people who have already used it on their notebook PCs or have left over at home.

Basically, any mouse can be connected to the iPad as long as it supports Bluetooth. However, please note that iPadOS 13.4 or later is required, so it can only be used with iPad Pro (all models), iPad (5th generation) or later, iPad Air 2 or later, and iPad mini 4 or later models.

To connect an iPad to a standard Bluetooth mouse, turn on the mouse and put it in pairing mode (standby for pairing). Then, open the "Settings" app → [Bleutooth], and when the mouse appears in [Other devices], just select it. You should be able to connect in a few minutes. By the way, in the case of Magic Mouse, if the power is on, there is no need to enter pairing mode, and it will be automatically displayed in [Other devices].

Innovative round pointer

Once you have a mouse connected to your iPad, you can click or double-click to operate menus, buttons, icons, etc., just as you would with a computer. You can also right-click ([Control] key + click). However, what is unique to the iPad is that a round pointer is displayed on the screen instead of the cursor. This is a new cursor that represents your fingertip as you touch the screen and changes interactively as you interact with it.

For example, when you click an icon or menu, it stays round, but on the text it changes to a [|] character. The pointer disappears after a while when the user does not operate it. It shows that you can insert pointers into text documents, highlight and copy words on web pages, and more.

Also, if you move the pointer closer to the menu on the screen, the pointer will automatically stick to it, if you bring it closer to the icons lined up on the home screen, the icon will be displayed larger, and if you do nothing for a few seconds, it will disappear. It is an epoch-making pointer that pre-reads what the user wants to do and suggests it with animation etc., and it is really easier to use than the cursor of a conventional personal computer.

Special operation unique to iPad

As with the round pointer, the iPad has its own characteristics when operating the mouse. In addition to normal clicks and right-clicks (secondary button clicks), special actions can take you to the home screen, open apps, and open Notification Center. The main ones are listed below, so be sure to remember them.

Wake iPad

Open the Dock

Go to home screen

Open App Switcher

Open Control Center

Open Notification Center

Customize and comfortably

It is also important to customize the settings to use the mouse comfortably. Mouse settings can be made from [General]-> [Trackpad and Mouse] in the "Settings" app, and you can select [Track speed], scroll direction, and whether to turn the secondary button click to the right or left. I can.

Also, don't forget to check [Pointer Control] in [Accessibility] of the "Settings" app. You can increase the contrast of the pointer, prevent the pointer from being hidden automatically, and change the color and size of the pointer. If you feel that it is a little difficult to see while using it, you can change the setting from here and the visibility will be greatly improved.
