The main use is to work in a virtual three -screen environment in a "intensive room" when working in a room without a dual display environment.I usually make materials and write manuscripts about 10 hours a week, about 3 to 5 hours at a time (why I settled on three screens).

Strap replacement is required for long -time installation

The band was quickly replaced with an external product "MOMO VR M2" and has improved considerably.Since the method is fixed with two points and the back of the head, no damage or pressure is felt around the eyes.

The fixing method is a problem, but it can be easily fixed by using an elongated velcro for cable binding.It looks a bit clunky, but it's not used outdoors, so it can be used quite comfortably so far (by the way, magic tape is procured with Daiso).

QUEST 2 has a problem with the battery driving time, but by powering it with a USB cable from this mobile battery, the battery has become a battery until humans get tired.

For glasses users: Quest 2 lenses should be bought

Lens arrived in about two days.What arrived this time was Nikon's SV160 lens.

Another very important custom is that the lens is attached to Quest 2.It depends on the size of the glasses frame, but it is quite hard to use Quest 2 for a long time while wearing glasses.You may feel a strong tightening around the temple, or you will feel pain due to the load around the nose.

Looking at Amazon, there are several glasses stores that make lenses for Quest 2.

I just recently had a new glasses lens, so I happened to have a prescription that recorded the lens adjustment.Using this, I ordered a store that sells Quest2 compatible lenses on Amazon.

The price is about 9000 yen.The store I used was very quick, and two days after ordering, I received my lens.

The lens that arrived and the adapter were taken out.

For mounting, the adapter is inserted into the QUEST two body, and a lens unit with a magnet is further fitted.The lens can be easily removed because it is only attached with a magnet.

The adapter fits into the lens part of Quest 2 like this.The metal part on both sides is a magnet, and when the lens is placed here, it adsorbs.

"Intensive room" setting ... How do you use it?

The basics are based on the main screen + sub screen (multiple), so one of the points is how to set the resolution of the main screen.

I tried to set the main screen to a very high resolution, such as 2294 dots, but it turned out that the performance of the drawing would drop if it was too high (the screen rewriting speed did not change much, but the delay has increased.The experience gets worse)

As a result, it was better to install more than 1440 x 900 dots, so the total performance was better, so as a result, the following three screen configurations were settled.

In the VR space, the screen is moved considerably deeper than the actual use distance, so the screenshot can be taken only in a square.The actual arrangement looks like this.

If the number of materials displayed is not enough, add another screen and sub screen 4 to the left.However, there is no shortage at the moment.

Passing multi -screen environment

It may no longer be a "hobby" level at home, but depending on the situation, PC + Quest 2 can be used quite practically.

The easiest way to understand is the case where you work in a different environment, such as a business trip or at this time, such as "homecoming".

Some of the people who have many overseas interviews have known multiple people who have moved liquid crystal displays as their suitcases (true), but they can be realized just by throwing QUEST2 in a suitcase.

At this time, you can use it when you want to work comfortably on your way home.

Finally, let's make it easier to compare with "Horizon Workrooms", a genuine meta VR conference tool.

Immersed and Horizon Worksrooms have some major differences in PC work.It is overwhelmingly Immersed that is used as a "intensive room".There are two reasons.

1.Horizon can only display one screen

First of all, the basic thing is that Horizon can only be used on one screen as of December.

Therefore, if you bring the laptop screen on the Horizon with a remote function, the exact same screen as the notebook PC will be mirrored and reproduced.

It is very inferior to the fact that the multi screen cannot be used even in the virtual space.

2.Horizon is quite delayed

There is also a problem of operation delay.It is the same for both Immersed and Horizon to display the PC screen in a virtual space, but the Immersed is extremely small.Horizon has a delay that can be seen visually (although it cannot be displayed by numerical values).

To be honest, there is no problem if you operate your PC for the display of the material when you have a meeting with someone, but the work of an edited reporter who uses a lot of spreadsheet software, letters and investigations is a bit motivated on Horizon.

Is Quest 2 a normal PC peripheral device?
