Information on the launch of the Yokohama Museum of Art collection appreciation app "Mirumiru Art Who are you?"

Jointly developed by Yokohama Museum of Art and Nomura Research Institute

Yokohama Arts Foundation We have jointly developed a web application (hereinafter referred to as the app) “Mirumiru Art Who are you?”, which allows you to enjoy the works up close, and will be available free of charge from 10:00 am on Monday, March 14, 2022.

With this app, you can choose 10 diverse works such as Western paintings, Japanese paintings, photographs, and prints from the collection of more than 13,000 works of the Yokohama Museum of Art. Appreciation starts by asking "Who are you?" to each work. The big-hatted “Detective” is a partner who works together with the user to explore the works while encouraging the actions necessary to use the app. Swipe the screen, shake, clap, and more to open the door to appreciation. Enjoy an experience that expands your imagination freely and deepens your interest and understanding of the work through dialogue with the work that begins there. In addition to explanations in simple Japanese that children around the age of 10 can understand, we have prepared more detailed explanations for adults as well as trivia related to the works and the Yokohama Museum of Art. If you access the URL of the app on your own smartphone or tablet, you can use it without downloading. Enjoy exploring art in the palm of your hand, just like flipping through a picture book.

Yokohama Museum of Art collection appreciation app

■The theme of free research for children.

■For communication of parent and child. ■I want to enjoy art casually right now. ■For a change of pace when you want to think creatively. ■Slightly intellectual killing time. ■For an artistic conversation with friends. ■For school education using tablet. Or the following URL https://yma.art-dx.nri.co.jp/ "Who are you?" Where do you live, what is your life like, and how do you feel now? How did you come to be drawn? Small questions that arise when encountering a work lead directly to an understanding of the work itself. Being interested in others and wanting to know them is the first step to understanding others. Now that "diversity" is important, why not start by getting to know the "someone" in the work that appears in front of you? "Mirumiru" in "Mirumiru Art" is a state in which the various "seeing" of "seeing", "observing", and "seeing" grow rapidly inside the person who experiences them. And the title "Who are you?" is a message for children living today, "I want them to cultivate an open eye toward others." The Yokohama Museum of Art and Nomura Research Institute worked on the development of this app through repeated fieldwork and research, in order to utilize their respective expertise to create a better future. We hope that this app will nurture a "soft heart" not only for children but also for adults, and even in the field of school education. Works:
